Today, I’m sharing some new skincare items that I recently picked up. I want to start by saying that nothing takes the place of a healthy diet, being properly hydrated, and moving your body. Healthy habits in conjunction with a great skin care routine… GAME CHANGER!!!!
One of my goals for 2024 is to become more intentional with my self-care. The first stop on my “Intentional Self-Care” journey is to improve the appearance of my skin. I decided to purchase some skin care items because I realized I didn’t have a skin care routine for my aging skin. I have core products that I use but not an in-depth routine that involves a face wash, serums, sunscreen, toner, and moisturizer.
Disclaimer: I am solely sharing my purchases. Please consult a medical professional if you choose to purchase or use any of these items.
My Holy Grail products for the past 12 years are Purity face wash, Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel for daytime and Lotion for nighttime and Laneige lip sleeping mask.
To be honest it has been working. BUT! At times I notice my skin appears extremely oily (even without makeup). Other times my complexion appears dull, has a bit of texture, fine lines and hyperpigmentation. I do get pimples here and there but nothing like the acne I experienced in my teens and early twenties. I purchased some items to add to my current routine and help correct these issues.
Some of these products I used in the past and I believed they worked well so I repurchased them. Other products are new to me. I have been hearing about them for years but never purchased them until now.
Brightening
Ole Henriksen- Let’s Get Luminous- I used the Ole Henriksen 3 Wonders in the past and I remember being a fan of the Vitamin C serum.
Sunday Riley C.E.O Glow- Vitamin C + Turmeric Face OillWhat it is: An advanced serum with plant saccharides and 15 percent vitamin C (THD ascorbate) to visibly minimize pores, brighten dark spots, and target signs of aging.
Skin Type: Normal, Dry, Combination, and Oily
Skincare Concerns: Dark Spots, Fine Lines and Wrinkles, and Dullness
Wrinkles/ Fine Lines
Sunday Riley- Luna Radiant & Smooth Sleeping Night oil
What it is: A gentle oil perfect for new and experienced retinol users that’s balanced with blue tansy to improve the look of wrinkles, surface redness, and pores.
Skin Type: Normal, Dry, Combination, and Oily
Skincare Concerns: Fine Lines and Wrinkles, Pores, and Redness
The Ordinary- Niacinamide 10% + Zinc Oil Control Serum- It helps to visibly minimise enlarged pores, tighten lax pores, improve uneven skin tone, soften fine lines & wrinkles, diminish dullness and strengthen a weakened surface.
INNISFREE- Sunscreen- From my understanding it helps reduce hyperpigmentation. I have heard good things about INNISFREE. I will purchase the travel size. It costs $16.
Improve Texture
Philosophy micro delivery exfoliating face wash-Philosophy’s The Micro Delivery Exfoliating Facial Wash is gentle enough for daily use and is an exfoliating cleanser that leaves skin soft and smooth.
- Cleanser that leaves skin feeling smooth and soft
- Provides gentle exfoliation
- Scrubs away build-up, dead skin cells and dry skin
Paula’s Choice- Skin Perfecting 20% BHA Liquid Exfoliant-Clears & minimizes enlarged pores.
- BHA (beta hydroxy acid) sheds built-up layers of skin
- Fluid, lightweight texture absorbs quickly
- Use up to twice daily after cleansing & toning skin
This was a small Haul but it covers the goals I have for my skin. Because I am trying to find what works best from my skin, which is to brighten, improve fine lines and wrinkles, and to improve the texture of my skin. I purchased some of these products in the travel size. I wanted to spend the least amount of money possible especially when trying new products. Let me know if you are interested in an update.
