STYLING CLASSIC OUTFITS FOR FALL YOU WILL ABSOLUTELY LOVE

Hello Beauties,

Happy Monday!!! Today we are styling Classic Pieces for Fall you will absolutely love because they are not only functional but easy to style on a daily basis. Each outfit was styled with a capsule wardrobe in mind. Each outfit contains a piece or all that everyone has in their wardrobe. In my previous post we talked about ways to dress or look better today (3 WAYS TO DRESS BETTER TODAY – The Beauty- Lush).  The top two (2) ways to achieve this is to know what you have in your closet (Take Inventory) and the second way is to style your outfits in advance.  I have styled 7 Classic outfits. Learning to dress better can seem like an overwhelming task especially if dressing well never came naturally to you. Also, in a time when fast fashion is constantly being thrown at us all over social media, it’s hard to know the difference between fashion or style. Fashion is a way of dress that is valued socially because of its cultural relevance or popularity. Style is a reflection of you. It may not be innovative or extremely popular but, people can always expect you to present yourself in a particular way every time they see you. Taking a few simple steps daily can elevate your look and style.

1. TAKE INVENTORY OF YOUR CLOSET.

  • This will help you determine what you have and the pieces your closet needs to effortlessly style a look on a daily basis. It will also help you identify the most common color palette in your wardrobe.
  • Don’t worry if the color in your wardrobe isn’t a perfect match. As long as it is tonal (or appears in the same color family) it will work.
  • Eliminate any clothes that dont compliment you body type (this includes under garments). Dressing with the proper proportions can really elevate your look. Ex: If you are wearing a fitted top pair it with a flowy bottom or A-line skirt; if you are wearing flowy top pair it with a fitted bottom.
  • Don’t be a clothes collector! Wearability is key. Make sure you have a few basic good quality pieces that never go out of style such as a well fitted blazer, white button up shirt, t-shirts (long and short sleeved), nice quality black purse (or whatever color family is classic for you), and good quality jewelry (to name a few).

2. TAKE TIME TO PUT LOOKS TOGETHER

  • The best way to have an effortless look is to plan ahead. Some of my favorite videos on Youtube is watching creators plan their outfits for the week.
  • Failing to plan, is planning to fail. Style at least 3 days’ worth of looks in advance.
  • When styling a look, consider the weather and the environment you will be in. Ex: If you work in a cold office climate wear a blazer or sweater; don’t wear a pair of sandals on a rainy day.
  • When styling your looks plan everything from your makeup to your hair, outfit, and accessories. Make sure these items are accessible so that you are not fumbling around on the day you plan to wear you look. If you need to switch bags this is the time to do so.
  • After pairing a look, try it on. This will ensure it fits properly. Sometimes, you can visualize a look, try it on and realize it doesn’t look the way you imagined because it’s too big, too small, or it’s not right for your body type. If it all works out, steam/iron it and add it to the roster.

3. Accessorize

  • Accessories have a huge impact on your outfit. I tend to notice a person’s accessories before their outfit.
  • Accessorizing really pulls a look together whether its statement jewelry, modest (everyday jewelry) such as a dainty chain/watch.
  • Sunglasses are just as necessary as jewelry. Add a pair of good quality shades to your accessories.

To conclude this post, dressing better starts with you making the choice to present yourself to the world as a well-dressed individual. Once you have made that decision, start finding inspiration on Pinterest of how you want to look. Before you go out and spend money take inventory of the clothes you already have. Being organized and planning ahead is a major component of dressing better. This is a form of self-care and getting to know yourself personally. Lastly, purchase good quality classic pieces and don’t forget to accessorize.

6 EASY WAYS TO TRANSITION FROM SUMMER TO FALL!

Happy Saturday Beauties!

Fall is fast approaching (in just a couple of weeks, OMG!!!) and I wanted to offer a little transitional outfit inspiration. I know some of us aren’t quite ready to pack away our summer clothes and sandals just yet, but we are ready to break out those new items we purchased for fall. Here is how we can create that juxtaposition with paring our summer and fall wardrobe together to make a great outfit for those warm fall days.

  1. Layer, Layer, Layer!!!

One of the best ways to transition from summer to fall is to layer you tank tops and tees with a denim jacket, blazer, or cardigan (3 pieces and accessories make an outfit complete). Layering can really pull an outfit together in a really chic way. Also, adding some warmth up top while still allowing you to wear your chunky sandals.

2. Keep The Color Flowing!!!

I know, I know, Pumpkin Spice over everything… Lol. But as we talked about in my last post Fall 2023 Beautiful Color Trends That Will Make You Stand Out – The Beauty- Lush, Vibrant Colors and Textures are trending this season and when you add some metallic color, that’s next level. Chef’s Kiss! I styled the metallic skirt in a more wearable way with sneakers, a structure t-shirt, and denim jacket, because I feel women will purchase a piece like this and save it for a special occasion. Your clothes deserve to be worn ladies! The silver metallic bag completed the look. If you wanted to take the outfit from day to date night add a cute pump. I have been in love with these pumps since I purchased them for my birthday, and they are currently on sale!!

3. BREAK OUT THE JEANS

An easy way to start incorporating denim back into your wardrobe is to start with cropped or distressed styles (or both). Fall Temperatures will start to dip especially in the early to mid-mornings and denim will provide you with a little warmth but as the temp began to rise throughout the day the cutouts will provide a little ventilation.

I paired some black denim jeans, cropped top, white button down, chunky sandals in this transitioning fall outfit.

4. Mules

Mules the perfect shoe selection when transitioning to from summer to fall. They come in all shapes and sizes from heeled, chucky, and flat. They are perfect for those low temperature days as well. They pair well with jeans, skirt, trousers, and shorts.

I styled mules with a medium washed jean, white tee, and a red purse.

5. Maxi Skirts

Just because summer is ending doesn’t mean you have to put away your Maxi skirt. Elevate them instead. Fall is the time to start adding textures. One of the trends that is coming back this fall is leather. Maxi skirts has so much versatility. It can be paired with a mule, combat boots, tall boots, or sneaker. You can never go wrong.

I put together a textured maxi skirt with a cropped top, denim jacket, and a white mule. But this fit can be paired with any of the shoes I mentioned above.

6. Mini Skirts

Just because the weather is changing doesn’t mean you have to count your miniskirts out. Mini skirts are not created equal. They are a major player in your wardrobe no matter the weather. During the fall/winter season you have to dress them up a bit with tights and tall boots. However, when transitioning from summer to fall you can still bare your legs but cover your toes with a nice closed in shoe and top it off with a great jacket.

Fall 2023 Beautiful Color Trends That Will Make You Stand Out

Hello Beauties,

Fall 2023 is fast approaching and I have One Question. What are we wearing?!! In this post we are talking about the beautiful color trends that will make you stand out this fall 2023 season.

Before you go out and spend your hard earned money on this season’s fashion trends, PLEASE REMEMBER TO SHOP YOUR CLOSET FIRST!!  

  1.  This will help you determine what you have and the pieces your closet needs to effortlessly put together an outfit on a daily basis.
  2. I know you are scrolling your favorite social media influencers with their trendy fall recommendations at the moment, But… I suggest carefully picking a wearable trend that fits well with your overall style aesthetic but most importantly your lifestyle (especially if you plan to spend top dollar). 
  3. Wearability is Key!!  When you are making fashion decisions, you should get multiple wears out of a piece.  Also, picture yourself being able to have these items for future fashion seasons to come.  Even if I sell or donate a clothing item at the end of a season, I never buy anything intending not to wear it multiple times or have it for more than a season or two.  But if I have issues styling a clothing item, I will donate or sell it to make room in my wardrobe.   

Next Question, have you chosen your color of the season yet?

The Pantone color trends for the fall/winter 2023/2024 were posted!  Now granted, wear whatever color makes you happy and feel confident.  However, knowing the fall color trends can help guide you when we start making your fall/winter fashion purchases. Well, that’s what the Pantone color trends are.  It starts from luxury designers, then ends up on the Runway, and trickles down to the high street fashion retailers.  When you as the consumer participate in a trendy hue, they were chosen by the fashion Gods (lol) for you. Also, they become your investments for the year.  This includes shoes, hats, belts, and jewelry.

I am pretty much a Black, Navy, Cream, & Taupe girl no matter the season.   But this fall, it’s nice to see these vibrant pops of color such as the yellow, orange, and magenta. 

According to Instyle magazine (The Fall 2023 Colors Everyone Will Be Wearing (instyle.com)), the colors of the season are Yellow or Butter cup, Clay (which can appear like a reddish brown or Cinnamon), Magenta, Cream, Red, Burgundy, and Chocolate Brown.  

In addition to Magenta and Red I have also gravitated towards Blush Pink and Navy (not the color trend, I know) for the newer pieces I have added to my wardrobe. But I will definitely add more pops of red and magenta pieces to my wardrobe as well. It’s beautiful how those two colors marry when worn together but apart it can be a focal point with your best fitting jeans, skirt, or trousers. But when you can get a jumpsuit that puts these two colors together is perfect Chef’s Kiss!)

Thought I will offer some style inspo to hit the streets and run errands, go on a solo lunch date, or go to brunch with friends.

I know we all want to just get up and throw on a comfy pair of leggings or sweats and bust a move. It’s easy, helps us get out the door faster, and make it back home swiftly. I much rather take my time and get dressed. The Best Summer Sandals for 2023

Today, we are talking about The Best Sandals for Summer 2023. I am a huge lover of shoes. I like to believe shoes are a very important accessory. I believe every shoe collection should be stylish, great quality, and most importantly comfortable.  Your sandals should be so comfortable that you can walk for miles or dance the night away. A pair of great quality sandals should be able to take you through all the summer festivals, parks with the kiddos, farmers markets, the beach, and date night.  

When it comes to heel height, a flat sandal is always my go-to but a low heel is great for adding a little leg definition during summer date nights.  

When it comes to summer sandals, I always try my best not to break the bank. I’ve rounded up 9 pairs of stylish sandals I am loving this season. All the sandals I am showing today except for one pair are under $100

1. FLAT CROSSED LEATHER SANDALS – Brown | ZARA United States

3.  FLAT CROSSED LEATHER SANDALS – Gold | ZARA United States – Zara tends to bring these sandals back for every summer season in the neutral colorways in addition to the color of the season.  So far I have collected 3 pairs.  The Zara Flat Crossed Leather Sandals look similar to the Hermes Oran Sandal.  But that’s not why they are on this list. They made this list because not only are they comfortable, fit true to size, and wide feet friendly,  they are also stylish.  $49.90.

4. Enola Sporty Leather Sandal – SCHUTZ (schutz-shoes.com) – The Enola is a new purchase for me this season. It gives the Birkenstock vibes with a hip flair.  These sandals are very comfortable, wide feet friendly, and absolutely stylish. They have a price tag of $138.  I had to buy them because of the bamboo detail.

5. TOE POST HEELED LEATHER SANDALS – Off White | ZARA United States

6.  TOE POST HEELED LEATHER SANDALS – Sandy Brown | ZARA United States  – I suspect these Zara sandals are going to be very comfortable. But they are also sexy.  And great news they are included in the Zara Sale for $29.99 that is going on right now.  These sandals are chic and classic.  They can elevate your wardrobe and take you from office to happy hour.

7.    You Milan Slides | Havaianas – I just love Havaianas.  This style is perfect for the beach.  These slides come in a neutral tone that can take you from beach day to a beautiful sundress. These are more feminine than an adidas slide. 

8. BLOCK HEEL LEATHER SANDALS – Black | ZARA United States – These sandals are very comfortable and have a heel height of 2.6in. Perfect for the office, brunch, or date night.  These will look nice with a midi or mini skirt, shorts, dress, trousers, and jeans.  The straps are comfortable, wide feet friendly, and have a simplicity that is elegant yet stylish.  They are also included in the Zara sale for $29.99

9.  Maeve Puffy Knotted Sandals | Anthropologie–  These sandals are absolutely beautiful and come in a variety of colors.  They are currently on sale at Anthropologie for $59.95
